Free Annual Credit Reports
To obtain your free annual credit reports from the three major nationwide consumer reporting companies (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion):
Visit www.annualcreditreport.com, call 877-322-8228, or write: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.
- Place a fraud alert on your credit reports, and review your credit reports.
- Close the accounts that you know, or believe, have been tampered with or opened fraudulently.
- File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
- File a report with your local police or the police in the community where the identity theft took place.
